The recipient of the 2024 RHF Scholarship is Katelynn Owens from Dexter. Katelynn is the daughter of Ken and Shannon Owens. She plans to attend University of Arkansas in the Fall and pursue a degree in nursing. Katelynn completed the Project Lead the Way Biomedical Curriculum during her four years at Dexter High School, which deepened her interest in pursuing a career in the medical field. She is also an employee at First Midwest Bank and actively involved in Pep Club, FCCLA, FCA, HOSA Future Health Professionals, Varsity Volleyball, and NHS. Katelynn is in the Top 10% of her graduating class, serves as Media Manager for FCCLA, volunteers at blood drives held at Dexter High School, and helps work and stock the concession stand. Katelynn states that she “aspires to become a nurse because I am deeply compassionate about helping people in need. Nursing allows me to share my compassion, empathy, and desire to help others, making it more than just a career that can bring me joy and purpose every day.”
